San Jose, California – On April 8, 2025, the Board of Trustees of the East Side Union High School District approved a resolution initiating the process to change the District's election system for elected trustees from at-large trustee elections to by-trustee area elections in single-member trustee areas.

 

Please take notice that on June 26, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., the Board of Trustees of the East Side Union High School District will hold a public hearing during the Board's Special Meeting to provide an opportunity for the public to engage in the process and provide input regarding the transition to a district-based election system.  The public hearing will gather input from the community to better understand the distinct neighborhoods within ESUHSD.  This information is used to create the draft district maps for Board approval. The public is invited to provide input regarding the composition of the districts.

Join us in shaping the future of East Side Union High School District.  Workshop participants will learn about establishing new trustee areas, see a demonstration of the trustee area drawing tool for maps and communities of interest, and be able to ask questions or make comments. 

 

The public will be given an opportunity to draw communities of interest and trustee area maps during the workshop. Laptops will be provided for your use during the workshop, or you are welcome to bring your own laptop.

 

The District welcomes public input in the districting process.

Please take notice that on June 5, 2025 at approximately 6:05 p.m., the Boardof Trustees of the East Side Union High School District will hold a public hearing during the Board’s Regular Meeting to consider the level of support by teachers employed by the District, and other employees of the District, and parents, for the proposed material revision to the graduation requirements, governance structure, and educational program in the San Jose Conservation Corpse Charter School Charter Petition submitted by San Jose Conservation Corps. Pursuant to Education Code 47605 (b), the Board must hold a public hearing. The Board will make a decision on the material revision request on June 5, 2025.
