Desde abril de 2025, el Distrito ha estado en proceso de transición de elecciones generales de miembros de la Mesa Directiva a un sistema electoral uninominal. El Distrito está próximo a completar el proceso de demarcación de distritos, que debe concluir a más tardar el 5 de octubre de 2025.

 

En una Reunión Extraordinaria de la Mesa Directiva realizada el 18 de septiembre de 2025, la Mesa Directiva del Distrito Escolar Unificado East Side aprobó la adición de los siguientes plazos y fechas para audiencias y reuniones públicas sobre este proceso:

 

El propósito de la audiencia pública será recibir las opiniones de la comunidad sobre el contenido de los mapas preliminares, los mapas presentados por el público y la secuencia propuesta de elecciones. Se invita a todo el público a asistir.

 

La Mesa Directiva realizará su audiencia pública final para recibir las opiniones de la comunidad sobre el contenido de los mapas preliminares, los mapas presentados por el público y la secuencia propuesta para las elecciones. Posteriormente, la Mesa Directiva aprobará el mapa final y aprobará la secuencia de las elecciones.

Please take notice that on September 25, 2025 at approximately 7:30 p.m., the Board of Trustees of the East Side Union High School District will hold a public hearing during the Board's regular meeting to consider whether the students in the District's schools have sufficient textbooks or instructional materials, or both, that are aligned to the content standards adopted by the State Board of Education. The meeting will take place in the Board Room of the Education Center located at 830 North Capitol Avenue, San Jose. All interested staff, parents, and community members are invited to attend.

Xin lưu ý rằng vào ngày 18 tháng 9 năm 2025, lúc 6 giờ chiều, Hội đồng Quản trị của Học khu Trung học East Side sẽ tổ chức một buổi điều trần công cộng trong Cuộc họp của Hội đồng để tạo cơ hội cho công chúng tham gia vào quá trình và cung cấp ý kiến liên quan đến việc chuyển đổi sang hệ thống bầu cử theo khu vực.  Buổi điều trần công cộng sẽ thu thập ý kiến đóng góp từ cộng đồng để hiểu rõ hơn về các khu dân cư khác biệt trong ESUHSD.  Thông tin này được sử dụng để tạo ra bản đồ dự thảo Học khu để Hội đồng phê duyệt. Công chúng được mời đóng góp ý kiến về thành phần của các khu vực trong Học khu.

 Free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for adults will be held at Yerba Buena High School starting on September 13, 2025. Classes are held on Saturday mornings from 9:00 am to 11:50 am in room 342. Application forms can be picked up and returned to Miss Crissy Anderson or Ms. Nguyet Dinh in the Student Union. You can also print the flyer and registration form in the attachment.

San Jose, California – On April 8, 2025, the Board of Trustees of the East Side Union High School District approved a resolution initiating the process to change the District's election system for elected trustees from at-large trustee elections to by-trustee area elections in single-member trustee areas.

 

Please take notice that on September 11, 2025, at 6:30 p.m., the Board of Trustees of the East Side Union High School District will hold a public hearing during the Board's Regular Meeting to provide an opportunity for the public to engage in the process and provide input regarding the transition to a district-based election system.  The public hearing will gather input from the community to better understand the distinct neighborhoods within ESUHSD.  This information is used to create the draft district maps for Board approval. The public is invited to provide input regarding the composition of the districts.
